The oocyte (egg) thaw procedure recovers and processes a previously frozen egg. After the individual egg is retrieved from liquid nitrogen storage and all patient identifiers are checked, it is placed in a prepared dish and processed through several drops of thaw materials. The dish is then moved to a heated surface to complete the warming process. Once thawed, the eggs are moved into a new dish to be washed in culture media, documented and transferred to the incubator to await the ICSI procedure.
